Energy and Waves
Wave Speed = Wavelength X Frequency
A Mechanical Wave is a disturbance in matter that carries energy from one place to another. The three types of mechanical wave are transverse waves, longitudinal waves, and surface waves.
The highest point of a wave is the crest. The lowest point of the wave is called the trough.
Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves because the fields are at right angles to the direction in which the wave travels.
